CARE
Arborvitae Trees: The wonderful thing is that once established, Arborvitae grow with little care for many years. However, it is important to keep the soil moist for the first few weeks after transplanting.
For instant privacy, we recommend planting the trees rootball to rootball. You may also plant them 24'-36' apart from the trunk of the tree to the trunk of the other tree.
The average size of the rootball we provide is approximately 24' in width and 16'-18' deep. You do not want a good size tree and a small rootball for it can wither and die in a short period of time. The bigger the rootball the better!
Fertilze once a year. We use Steer manure, it's effective and inexpensive.
When the tree is first planted, you must make sure that the Emerald Arborvitae gets plenty of water. At least for the first two weeks then after this as needed.
